The Tarapur Atomic Power Plants, located near here, are safe, and there has not been any incident leading to potential radioactive release, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) has said.
The 540-MW unit four of the TAPP was shut down for maintenance of solenoid valves, motors and some other components of fuelling machines, site director R.K. Gargye said in a release issued here on Wednesday.
As reported in a section of the media, there was no such situation that could cause radioactive release.
