Swine flu claimed two more lives, including that of a pregnant woman in Nashik, with 264 fresh cases of the disease being reported from across the country today.

One death was reported from Andhra Pradesh and the other from Nashik in Maharashtra where a 23-year-old pregnant woman died at the city civil hospital.

Kavita Dhikale was admitted to a private hospital after she showed symptoms of H1N1 virus. She was yesterday shifted to the Nashik Civil hospital where she died in the evening, Dr Asaram Bhalsingh, Civil Surgeon of Nashik Civil hospital said.

In protest against her death, victim's relatives man-handled policemen and ransacked hospital furnitures. A case has been registered against them.

In Andhra Pradesh, Butchaiah died at the Usmania hospital. He was a resident of Nalgonda.

Of the 264 cases reported during the day, four are imported and the rest are indigenous cases.

While 80 cases were reported from Delhi, Andhra Pradesh had 11 cases, Haryana 17 and Tamil Nadu 17.

Officials in the health ministry said till date, samples from 37,502 persons have been tested for Influenza A H1N1 in government and some private laboratories across the country.

A total of 8,696 people have tested positive for the virus till now.
