At a meeting here on Thursday, the suspension of operations against 19 Kuki rebel groups was reviewed. D.S. Poonia, Chief Secretary, represented the Manipur government.

It was agreed that the number of the rebels who had come over ground following the signing of an agreement on suspension of operations shall be finalised.

It was also agreed to complete soon the construction of designated camps, where the surrendered militants will stay.

The government made it clear that it would not remain a silent spectator if the former rebels violated the ground rules.

There have been reports of violation of the ground rules.
