Two persons from Tamil Nadu died on the spot when their lorry, which was transporting cars, collided with a tanker on the outskirts of Tumkur on National Highway 4 early on Monday. Three persons from Haryana, who were in the tanker were critically injured.
Police said the impact of the collision was more as both heavy vehicles were fully loaded. Traffic on the highway came to a halt for more than an hour until rescue operations were completed. The driver and the cleaner of the lorry bearing Tamil Nadu registration died on the spot. They were identified as Kuppaswamy and Balachandran.
