The opening of the "Paramapada vasal" signifies the most important ritual of the entire 20-day festival. All religious schedules were carried out in accordance with the 'lagnam'. Namperumal, left the sanctum sanctorum at 3.30 a.m. in the Virichiga lagnam. The 'Paramapada vasal' was opened at 4.30 a.m., amidst a sea of humanity.
