Chattisgarh CM’s assurance to TN delegation

Chattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday assured a delegation led by Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Natham R. Viswanathan of his government’s cooperation to an integrated project of coal mine development and electricity generation in a coal block in his State.

He made this assurance when Mr. Viswanathan conveyed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s request. The cost of the project was about Rs. 30,000 crore, according to an official release issued here.

The coal block had been allotted to Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Tamil Nadu would get 2,500 megawatt of power from the project, which would be implemented in three years, the release added.
