State should pay immediate attention to the problem: Karunanidhi
Besides demanding a probe into the alleged irregularities that had plunged Annamalai University into its present crisis, the CPI(M) on Wednesday wanted the State government to take over the institution in the interest of its employees, teachers and students.
In a statement here, CPI (M) State secretary G. Ramakrishnan said the university produced outstanding students during the days of the independence struggle and subsequently, but remained a pale shadow of its glorious days due to administrative irregularities.
“The probe should identify those who are irresponsible for the irregularities and recover the money which is said to be Rs 7,000 crore,” he said.
DMK president M. Karunanidhi said the State government should pay immediate attention to the problem and should not think that the cash-strapped Annamalai University was in some other State.
“The indefinite closure of the institution will severely affect the education of students,” he said.

This is as expected, I don't want to mention the particular department name, but there is one department where there is only 21 students but there are 28 Professors to take classes, From this example itself one can come to an conclusion what kind of administration is going on there, In fact I had predicted that this kind of situation will come to this university four years before, but at that time all ridiculed me. I kindly request Tamil Nadu Government to take immediate steps to restore the university in the larger interest.
take over is not going to slove problem.
First thing is see corruption and misuse of Govt Fund by authotities. What has happened to fund?Public cannot take burden of corruaption of University.
"the interest of its employees, teachers and students." - This is the
problem with the CPI(M). It is always the interests of the employees
first. Be it banking, PSUs and now educational institutions, it appears
the CPI(M) believes the institution exists for the purpose of providing
employment to its employees and the employees have little or no
responsibility to those who foot their salary bill i.e. paying customers
and in this case the students.
