One critically injured in fire accident

A worker at a cracker unit was critically injured in a fire accident at a fireworks unit at Thulukkakurichi near Vembakottai on Friday.

Police said that A. Muneeswaran (23) of Kottamadakkipatti sustained 100 per cent burn injuries due the accidental fire that was triggered by friction while filling chemicals to make atom bombs in the cracker unit at around 8 a.m.

One of the working sheds was damaged in the impact of the explosion. The injured has been admitted to a private hospital in Madurai.
