Warrant against Anbumani cancelled

July 11, 2012 03:26 am | Updated 03:26 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A court here cancelled a bailable warrant it had issued against former Union health minister Anbumani Ramadoss after he appeared before it on Tuesday.

He was charge sheeted for alleged irregularities in allowing an Indore-based medical college to function without adequate faculty members and facilities.

The court had taken cognisance of the charge sheet and issued summons to him to appear on July 7.

After the CBI said that summons could not be served on him, the court had observed that Dr. Anbumani, it appeared, had intentionally avoided the summons.

Dr. Anbumani also moved his bail application following which the court issued notice to the CBI to reply on July 20.
