V.K. Sasikala and J. Ilavarasi, co-accused in the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, have on Wednesday challenged before the Karnataka High Court the Special Court’s August 2011 order of rejecting their plea to recall the investigating officer for cross-examination.
Justice Subash B. Adi, before whom their petition came up for hearing, ordered issue of notice to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Chennai, through the Special Public Prosecutor.
Further hearing on the petition has been adjourned to next week.
The accused had last year filed an application seeking recalling of former investigation officer N. Nallamma Naidu for cross-examining him.
