Man slams 3-year-old son to death

In a fit of rage, Govindan (35), a daily wage worker at Thiagarajapuram near Sankarapuram, allegedly slammed his three-year-old son Sanjeevi against a wall, causing instantaneous death.

On the complaint of the VAO, the police have registered a case and Tahsildar Gokula Padmanaban has started an inquiry.

Police sources said that Govindan used to often pick quarrel with his wife Selvi (30).

When Govindan came home in an inebriated condition on Thursday night, another quarrel ensued between the husband and wife. Govindan lifted Sanjeevi, who was fast asleep, by his legs and hit him against the wall.
