‘Sidhantis' forecast good days for Telugu Desam, Praja Rajyam Party

The ‘official' astrologers of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) have predicted a good year ahead for the two parties in the Telugu New Year — Vikruti Nama Samavastaram.

March 17, 2010 02:59 am | Updated 12:54 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The forecast was given in the ‘panchanga shravanam' (astrological predictions) organised in the respective party offices.

In NTR Bhavan, astrologer Srinivasa Gargeya stated that ‘shubha ghadiyalu' (auspicious moments) for TDP would begin from August 5 this year. Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu entering 60 years of age, which was 36 days away, would also augur well with the party. He said N. Balakrishna and Jr. NTR had to be cautious while taking decisions.

Not promising

The year ahead was not very much promising for industrial, real estate, stock market sectors, women would face more difficulties and threat of terrorist attacks would also loom large on the country, the astrologer predicted. On the Telangana issue and the Srikrishna Committee, he said such panels would come and go but would fail to conclude anything. Several senior leaders of the party from the twin cities attended the function.

The new year will see Praja Rajyam and its president Chiranjeevi playing a pivotal role in Andhra Pradesh politics, according to the Siddhanthi who conducted ‘Panchanga Sravanam' (reading of almanac) at the party officee here on Tuesday.

Several party functionaries, party workers and others participated in ‘Ugadi' celebrations at the PRP office attended by Mr. Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind, C.Ramachandraiah, K.Vidyadhara Rao and Kala Venkat Rao.

The Siddhanti said the year, overall, would turn out well for the State and the party which would play a key role in the political scene in the coming months.

The party's young leadership would also gain prominence, the scholar predicted.

Meanwhile prominent director Kodi Ramakrishna, who extended his Ugadi greetings to Mr. Chiranjeevi, said that there were several scripts ready if the latter was willing to consider them, resulting in some speculation about his re-entry into films.
