A 30-year-old woman killed her husband with the help of her brother-in-law and chopped the body into 11 pieces, police said on Tuesday.

“There was some property dispute between the brothers. Atiya Dhuru, wife of the victim, was in an illicit relationship with her brother-in-law, Parvez Dhuru (52). The two hatched a plan to kill him,” the investigating officer of the case told The Hindu .

Mathar Mohammad Hanif Dhuru’s (38) chopped body was found in a gunny bag near the Titwala police station on December 12. Mathar used to sell milk in the area.

“When we recovered the body, it could not be recognised. So we checked if there were any ‘missing persons’ complaints in the area. We found that a complaint was registered at the Bajarpeth police station on December 12. The murder had taken place two days ago. When we summoned the family, the wife identified the man based on the description,” he said.

The police grew suspicious when they realised that the complaint was filed two days after Mathar went missing.

“After interrogation, she admitted that she had killed her husband with the help of her brother-in-law and some other accomplices,” the officer said.
