A 20-year-old youth was arrested in Rourkela on charge of uploading an objectionable picture on Facebook, police said on Saturday.
Pintu Sahu was taken to custody by Brahmanitarang police on Friday for posting an objectionable picture on his Facebook account.
The picture showed “Lord Hanuman sitting atop a mosque” and the picture was posted on December 6, the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, the police said.
As tension was brewing among the community over the controversial picture, the police took Mr. Sahu into custody. “We got the smell of tension. Three software specialists were pressed into service to find out the source of the controversial picture. Finally, Pintu Sahu’s account was located,” informed the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Rourkela S.S. Sethi.
Mr. Sethi said that Sahu was arrested, adding that he had been booked under the provisions of IT Act besides section 153(A), 295(A) and 298 of IPC for fomenting enmity between two communities and disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the society.

I am not going to be judgmental on whether what Mr.Sahu did was right or wrong. However, when did we as a society lost the main ingredient of being a human - self control, Respect for others thoughts and opinions.
Am not talking about sahu but more so on the so called "communities", afraid of whom the police arrested him.
If you are an RTI activist and you question local goondas and politicians - worse, you are vanished from earth.
Any one can get offended for anything, its their problem - I remember a famous quote - "no one can insult you without your consent".
If I have strong faith in me and what I believe, I should move on not not get shaken by these comments. I hope the communal, religious, political mob in India understands, common man is getting tired of this.
Police has done a commendable job. There is not doubt that the uploader of such inappropriate pictures and videos should be punished, but please ensure that no innocent is caught in confusion. There exist lot of communal videos promoting enmity and violence.
