A local court on Wednesday ordered an inquiry into the allegations that the police submitted false evidence in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving Bollywood star Salman Khan. One person was killed and four others were injured in the incident.
The court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bandra, was hearing a petition social worker Santosh Daundkar, alleging that submission of false information by the police in the trial against Mr. Khan had delayed the case by 4-5 years.
However, police authorities told the court that there were no discrepancies on their part in the investigation. It fixed the next hearing for March 21.
The former IAS officer and advocate Abha Singh is appearing for Mr. Daundkar.
