An Army court of inquiry has held Lance Naik Anil Kumar Upadhyaya of 287 Field Regiment guilty of molesting a tribal girl in July last year at Dolopa village in upper Assam’s Sivasagar district and sentenced him to three months’ rigorous imprisonment in military custody.
The Lance Naik was also demoted to the rank of sepoy..
Upadhyaya was arrested for molesting the 19-year old girl of Mising tribe on July 13 and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate three days later.
