Investigation into the death of Anuradha Bali alias Fiza Mohammed, estranged wife of the former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammed, took yet another turn, with the police on Thursday recovering Rs. 1 crore in cash and jewellery worth Rs. 30 lakh from the lockers maintained by her in different banks here .

Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police G.S. Bhullar told reporters that the police were looking for leads about Fiza's unnatural death, as no suicide note was recovered so far. The police opened the three lockers in the presence of her three sisters. While Rs. 49.99 lakh and Rs 54.99 lakh were recovered from two of the lockers, the third had the jewellery.

Fiza’s body was recovered on August 6 from the ground floor bedroom of her house in Mohali. There were no external injuries or signs of struggle, a post-mortem last week established presence of lethal pesticide aluminium phosphide from her viscera, leading the police to infer that it was a case of suicide.
