Amid talk of differences with senior party leaders over style of his functioning, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said he was getting “full support and guidance” from them in running the Uttar Pradesh government.
“We are getting full support and guidance of seniors. We are being benefited by their experience,” Mr. Akhilesh said replying to a query on relations between the young and senior politicians in the state assembly
There had been reports of differences between senior SP leaders including Mohammad Azam Khan and Ambika Chaudhary and Akhilesh Yadav over style of functioning of the government.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing the ‘India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit-2012’, mentioned the importance of creating a balance between modern thought and experience.
During the interactive session with students, when queried over law and order situation and poor state of electricity supply in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Akhilesh said, “We are committed to improve both. We are working continuously to improve the law and order and the electricity situation.”
In his address, he highlighted the importance of computer education and increasing the literacy rate among girls in the state.
“Very soon we will distribute 24 lakh tablet computers and 18 lakh laptops to high school and intermediate pass students in our state. We had made this promise in our election manifesto and now we will fulfill it,” he said.
The SP has maintained that computers, though important, should not be used as an alternative to humans and should not compromise on employment opportunities.

Akhilesh may well remember that the people pinned their hopes on him
and not on Azam Khans and others of his ilk. Azam Khan when he
chastises a senior bureaucrat in public and calls him 'badtamiz' is
only living up to his reputation as someone not particularly known for
civility in behaviour, but it disappoints people that there is not a
word of disapproval , let alone reprimand, from the Chief Minister!
What is this respect-for-elders thing when elders don't measure up to
anything worthwhile in matters of public concern. There is also
another thought.: What kind of an officer was that particular
bureaucrat who, like a perfect yogi, bore the abuse by a shameless
Minister. It is time officers guard their self respect. MInisters are
not above law.But that is another matter.
