Asserting its commitment to punish the culprits responsible for the Shopian double murder and rape case, Jammu and Kashmir government has said that no leniency would be shown to accused.

“We have promised the people of Shopian that guilty would not be spared at any cost. Action would be taken against the persons responsible for this dastardly crime”, Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar said.

He said the government was providing all logistic help to the CBI which is investigating the case.

Without identifying any individual or party, Mr. Sagar said “forces inimical to the peace would not be spared and every possible effort would be taken so that their nefarious designs are defeated.”

He also surveyed the development work being undertaken in Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts.
