‘If he had any facts, he should have placed them before the judiciary’
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Thursday voiced her disapproval of Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s remarks that Hindu fundamentalist groups were conducting terror camps, saying he made the statement in “haste” and should have left it to the courts to take a decision.
“Mr. Shinde holds an important position in the government and the issue relates to his department. There are several cases pending in courts on terrorism. If he had any facts, he should have placed them before courts and left it to the judiciary to give a decision. But he was hasty in making his comments,” she said at a press conference.
The statement had “agitated” Hindus and “angered” them. All religions should be respected and statements that were not based on facts and that hurt the sentiments, especially of Hindus, should be avoided.

Today Mr Shinde may be happy and think that he will have the support of
muslim brrothers & sisters. He has to face the election and and to face
the Hindus' also. He wll realise after election results for his recent
comments.
The statement of Sri Shinde behoves an uncouth congress politician but not a Union cabinet minister. BJP has governed the country under Atal Behari Vajpaye in a commendable manner. It is not becoming of a cabinet minister to hurl comments of a criminal nature in such a bad taste at the opposition. We have had great cabinet ministers of impeccable integrity, one of whom resigned as the Railway minister because a passenger train derailed near Lalgudi, Tamil Nadu. The least Shinde should do is to immediately resign from his post as the Home Minister. If he does not, the Prime Minister/President should sack him. What a shame that Shinde occupies the chair that was dignified by the unparalleled eminent freedom fighters like Sri Vallabhbhai Patel, (Bharata Ratna) Sri C. Rajagopalachari and Sri Govind Vallabh Pant.
But why behanjee suddenly feels so much for hindus? may be elections are round the corner!!!!
I think shes right & just to woe muslim votebank shinde has said so.
