Mata Amritanandamayi to receive honorary doctorate on May 25

The State University of New York, the United States will confer an honorary doctorate in humane letters on Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University.

According to a release from P. Venkat Rangan, Vice-Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, she will receive the doctorate at a convocation to be held in New York on May 25. It will be in recognition of the wide-ranging humanitarian contributions made by her throughout the world.
