Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad today said he was in touch with leaders of CPI, CPI-M and Lok Janshakti Party for forging an alliance in Jharkhand.
"I have contacted the leaders of the two left parties for an alliance during Jharkhand assembly polls," Mr Prasad told reporters after a meeting with the party leaders of Bihar and Jharkhand units.
RJD leaders are also in touch with Jharkhand Vikash Morcha leader and state's former chief minister Babulal Marandi to explore ways of electoral ties, Mr Prasad said.
Jharkhand will go to assembly polls in November-December with the first phase of polling scheduled for November 25. As per the earlier schedule, the poll was to be held on November 27.
The Election Commission has announced that that polling in the state will be held on November 25, December 2, 8, 12 and 18.
Mr Prasad said he had decided to reward the hardworking partymen with ticket to contest the Assembly polls in Bihar and Jharkhand.
The performance of the sitting party legislators would also be reviewed and taken into account during distribution of ticket for 2010 assembly polls in Bihar.
Referring to the indications for an early poll in Bihar, the RJD leader said his party was always ready to fight the "misrule" of Nitish Kumar-led government.
"Hold the polls now or today or tomorrow, we are ready for polls," he said.
He was commenting on reports that Mr Kumar may go for early assembly polls.
