Kausalya with tears in her eyes after meeting Chief Minister OommenChandy in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday to seek CBI enquiry into themurder of her son.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Thursday that the government was determined to end political murders.

The Chief Minister was speaking after receiving a representation seeking CBI enquiry into the brutal murder of Bharatiya Yuva Morcha leader K.T. Jayakrishnan from his mother Kausalya.

Mr. Chandy said that action would be taken, in view of fresh disclosures, to bring the real culprits behind the murder before the courts, after examining the legal position. Entire Kerala wanted those who killed Jayakrishnan and those who had conspired for the murder to be brought to book.

Ms. Kausalya said in her memorandum that the latest revelations indicated that the actual killers of her son had not been prosecuted. The trial court as well as higher courts had observed that the investigation into the murder was inadequate and conducted in a manner that helped the accused. The re-investigation was needed in order to bring the real culprits and conspirators before the law.
