Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chethipuzha near here following a knee injury, was discharged on Monday.
He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening following a swelling that had developed in his left knee when he slipped on a staircase.
According to the Minister's office, a team of doctors led by P.S. John, former Head of the Orthopaedics Department at the Kottayam Medical College, attended to Mr. Ravi and he was discharged from the hospital at 12.30 p.m. on Monday. He has been advised rest for four days.
Mr. Ravi left for New Delhi later in the day.
