The Hindu Governance is already a casualty under B.S. Yeddyurappa and the BJP: Veerappa Moily.

Contending that governance in Karnataka was “dead and gone”, senior Congress leader M. Veerappa Moily on Monday favoured fresh assembly polls in the state following the resignation of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in the wake of Lokayukta report on illegal mining.

“The right course of action is, if there is any grace left with BJP, they will have to step down and ask for a fresh elections,” Union Minister Moily, who is a former Chief Minister of Karnataka, told reporters outside Parliament House.

“Governance is already a casualty under B.S. Yeddyurappa and the BJP. Whether Yeddyurappa continues or somebody else continues, governance is already dead and gone,” he said.

Mr. Yeddyurappa had resigned on Sunday as Chief Minister after the report by state Lokayukta Justice N. Santosh Hegde named him in the illegal mining scam.
