Mr. Kageri was speaking to presspersons during a brief halt here on his way to Bangalore. He said: “It is a good programme. We plan to extend it to other places in the coming years.”

‘Rs. 300 for each child’

When it was brought to his notice that there were many instances of children, who had been studying in the schools that were closed, finding it difficult to reach their new schools owing to lack of transport facility, the Minister said the government would provide Rs. 300 for each child per month to cover transport costs.

“If there are problems related to lack of transport facilities, we will try to address the issue with the help of Transport Department,” Mr. Kageri added.
