An artist-couple was attacked and injured by a co-actor at the end of a stage show on Sunday at Hinjli in Ganjam district of Odisha.
‘Parvati Gananatya’, a famous opera troupe of Odisha, was holding its shows at Hinjli. The real-life act of violence happened back stage around 7 a.m.
As per the FIR filed at the Hinjli police station, the accused, Susant Sahu, 25, entered into a heated altercation with Sanjay Behera after the show ended. The situation turned ugly and the accused stabbed Mr. Behera with a knife in his chest and back. Mr. Behera’s wife, Manini, was injured while trying to save her husband.
The couple was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital and Susant Sahu was arrested. It is suspected that a past dispute led to the attack.
