Campaigning ends for phase II Bihar poll

Campaigning for Phase II of the six-phase elections to the Bihar Legislative Assembly ended on Friday. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the poll on Sunday.

This phase will cover 45 constituencies. As many as 623 candidates are in the fray. Kanti seat will see a total of 24 contestants. There are 228 independents. More than 98.44-lakh voters, including 45.64-lakh women, are eligible to vote.

The Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party are contesting all the 45 seats, while the JD(U) has fielded candidates in 28 seats, National Congress Party (31), RJD (34), BJP (17), and Lok Jan Shakti Party in 11 constituencies.
