The picture speaks.A woman, protesting peacefully,is throttled.Democracy is under real threat.
Showing black flags against the political leaders is an accepted one in the democracy forum. But it is not being allowed nowadays. Even prior permission also is not granted for such agitations. Till Indira and Moraji period such protests have been going on. The present day politicians are showing themselves to be a mass leaders always. The picture shows that our govt. is not only blocking a citizen's mouth but also the whole nation and the democracy.
What if a person shows a black flag ? Does it deserve the type of reatment she got from the females and males around her ? Is Sonia that great that a black flag cannot be shown? All really absurd.Sonia should appologise to that woman for the treatment given to her. More than that,Sonia should now know that her visits and talks wont gather votes for her party but she must change the face of the party with young, energetic persons.
In an open democratic country, it should be possible to express dissent peacefully. Unfurling a black flag is a peaceful, non-violent action. That a policeman is shown blocking a citizen's mouth speaks volumes.
i think the reporter should have talked about freedom of speech iolation and who were the police officers involved in the case. those officers actually beat that protester and evicted her, this is aweful.
Don't we have a right to protest in a peaceful manner in a democracy?
The picture above is worth a thousand words ! Where is freedom of speech in India? This woman posed no danger to anybody but only waved a black flag and tried to say something and the polce are shown stopping her from speaking. Is this democratic India ?
What a shame! In the largest democracy peaceful protests meet with force from the Police suppose to protect the commoners. British Raj is still well and alive!
This is a clear example of illiberal democracy. The woman in this case was not indulging in any form of violence or speaking any derogatory language, still she was evicted from the function. This is utter ludicrous and a clear example of breaking of Right to Protest of our incompetent Constitution.
