The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) would chalk out strategy to intensify separate statehood movement at the “brainstorming session” with the party leaders, polit bureau members and legislature party leaders on November 5 and 6 at Telangana Bhavan here.
The TRS, which considers Karimnagar district as having the strongest Telangana sentiment, had decided to organise the party’s crucial two-day meetings in Karimnagar town. The TRS had organised its first public meeting called ‘Simha Garjana’ in Karimnagar.
Again in 2006 when the party was losing ground , TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who represented the Karimnagar Parliament constituency, resigned from his MP post and won from the segment with a thumping majority and regained lost glory to the party. In November 2009, when Mr. Rao decided to launch his fast-unto-death demanding formation of separate Telangana, he camped in the town and was arrested on his way to Siddipet.
Public support
Taking into consideration the support extended by the people of the district, the TRS president decided to conduct the latest meeting with the party functionaries there. Accordingly, Mr. Rao would arrive here on November 4 itself and camp till November 6. Party sources said that the party MPs, 18 legislators, MLC and former legislators and MLCs, the State party leaders, district in-charges will participate in the brainstorming sessions. “The party will discuss about the intensification of statehood movement, strengthening of party from grassroots level and gear up for the elections,” they added.
Similarly, the party would also discuss about Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s proposed ‘Bus Baata’ to cover all the 100 Assembly segments in Telangana region to intensify the statehood movement, the party sources said and added that Mr Rao would visit all the mandal headquarters in the second phase to intensify the movement and exert pressure on the Congress government to carve out separate Telangana state.
