There is not reason question Hindu's integrity.
But its not a secret that Jagan has popularity owing to Caste and Religion. If somebody says he is not corrupt and the allegations are still pending, and majority shares his opinion, its silly.
Nobody can keep a popular politician inside jail for this length if there are no concrete proofs against them.
Now don't tell that Jagan earned all his assets just like other pioneer entrepreneurs with great legal ideas.
What Hindu is doing is doing their job--reporting news, unlike biased and corrupt publications giving their opinions. The matter with jagan is politically motivated and subjudice and is not proper to make conclusions of corruption. Fortunately majority of people side with this opinion.
Nobody is saying to black out all YSR party's news. Question is why the Hindu which
so much espouses about integrity and honesty in all spheres, is actually promoting
one party, whose President is facing multiple corruption charges. It should equally
cover all the other political parties as well.
@Bhuvan,
So you are asking The Hindu not to report the news as they see? Yes in Andhra
Pradesh, there is a huge following for YSR family even though there are allegations
(though not proved yet) against them. So you want The Hindu to completely ban YSR
family from news? What a great idea?
Bhuvan is absolutely right. Instead of educating the people about the dangers
that family poses to people and democracy, Hindu is going to great great lengths
that this family comes back to power again.
What is up with The Hindu? You seem to biased with YSR family, most corrupt in the history of AP, if not in India. The Hindu is known for high standards of journalism. Is this changing? You have written a little or unhighlighted coverage of clear evidence of corruption cases that CBI has been painstakingly uncovering, on the other hand, you are more 'pumped' up about this shameless and most selfish 'yatra', covering very 'positively'.
As a journalist, you have greater power to influence public towards the well being of society/country. Exercise that power responsibly, and do what is morally right.
I support your right to write what you think is correct for I believe in democracy.
