'Govt. deceiving BC students'

September 02, 2012 10:12 am | Updated 10:12 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has accused the government of deceiving students from Backward Classes (BC) on fee-reimbursement under pressure from the private college managements.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, TDP Rajya Sabha member T. Devender Goud alleged that the State government was planning to reduce the BC fee-reimbursement scheme burden since the last couple of years. He sought to know how the parents of BC students would pay fee in excess of Rs. 35,000 to be reimbursed by the government when they were not in a position to make both ends meet. The TDP will stage a protest led by party president N. Chandrababu Naidu in L.B. Nagar on September 4 on the issue of fee-reimbursement.
