July 29, 2012 04:12 am | Updated 04:12 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The results of the Civil Services preliminary examination, which was held on May 20, were declared on Saturday. About 500 candidates are expected to have cleared from the State out of the 15,000 odd aspirants who took the examination in Hyderabad, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam centres.

V. Gopala Krishna, Director, Brain Tree said that the expected cut-off marks for qualifying at the Preliminary have been increased.

Last year, it was 198 out of 400; this year, it seems to have increased to 208 out of 400.

The number of candidates from the State has come down as most aspirants focussed on Group-I services exams announced last year.
