Rs. 1-lakh reward for missing baby

July 14, 2012 02:32 am | Updated 02:32 am IST - Tirumala:

In the sensational case of an eight-month-old baby missing from one of the TTDs Pilgrims Amenities Complex (PAC ) at Tirumala, the TTD has announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh for anyone providing useful information about the baby or its whereabouts.

The baby — Prathyum, belonging to Raju and Sangapriya of Chennai — went missing mysteriously in the early hours of June 8 even as he (baby) was sleeping along with his parents at the crowded PAC – III, sending shock waves among the pilgrim fraternity.

The grief-stricken parents are still camping at Tirumala anxiously looking for the return of the baby or to get any positive information.

Distressed over lack of progress in the probe by the local police with whom a complaint has been registered, the parents on Friday approached the TTDs Executive officer L.V. Subramanyam.

Condemning the incident in the strongest terms, Mr. Subramanyam sounded sanguine that the baby will be soon reunited with the parents.
