Telugu Desam on Monday suspended its party MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao alias Nani, representing Gudivada in Krishna district, minutes after he met the YSR Congress honorary president, Vijayalakshmi at her Banjara Hills residence.
The TDP took action against him for his ‘anti- party activities’. In a blow to the party on a day when it is holding its extended executive meeting, Mr. Nani is likely to join YSR Congress party. He is expected to meet YSRCP MP, Jaganmohan Reddy at Chanchlguda jail later in the day.
For quite sometime, Mr. Nani was maintaining a distance from the party. He is a close follower of NTR Jr, son of Harikrishna who has his own differences with the party president and brother-in-law, N. Chandrababu Naidu. Gudivada, a stronghold of the party, happens to be the native place of TDP's founder, N. T. Rama Rao.

Seems the chief of TDP, Chandra Babu Naidu, took quite some time in
suspending Nani. He should have done it earlier. This type of dilly-
dallying and delayed action on the part of TDP chief is continuously
damaging his image in Public. He had better become cautious now.
How will he stay in a party that mistreats him, and which is on the
verge of a collapse?
