Farmers plough Vanpic land in Aluru

July 09, 2012 09:11 am | Updated 09:11 am IST - ONGOLE:

A week after removing fencing put up for the Vadrevu and Nizampatnam Ports and Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) project, a group of farmers and labourers led by the Left on Sunday ploughed the land with a tractor in a bid to start cultivation.

Joined by CPI District Secretary K Aruna and CPI(M) counterpart Jala Anjaiah, the farmers prepared for sowing in the land acquired by VANPIC for creating world class deep sea ports, multiproduct industrial park, regional airport, shipyard and mega thermal plants.

Mr. Anjaiah asserted that the Left parties would fully back the stir by ‘Vanpic Bhoomulu Sadhana Committee’ for return of their land now that no industry had come in the region.
