Ministers told to respond to petition

June 20, 2012 11:25 am | Updated 11:25 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Two State Ministers E. Pratap Reddy and G. Aruna Kumari were asked to respond to a writ petition filed in AP High Court wherein allegations were made that they had influenced a decision regarding a mining lease.

Justice K. C. Bhanu was dealing with the writ petition filed by Lalithamma and her two sisters.

They contended that their brother tried to snatch the mine which was in the name of their mother and they had a share in that mine.

Rejected

They said that in a suit for partition, the exclusive claim of the brother was rejected and various authorities had refused to grant lease in favour of the brother G. Venkatarami Reddy.

Exclusive rights

They lamented that at the instance of these Ministers their brother got the exclusive mining rights on April 25 at government level. The present writ petition is filed challenging the same and the Ministers were named. Justice Bhanu suspended the order, and granted three weeks time to the all the respondents including the Ministers to respond.
