MIM MLA allowed to have outside food once a week

The First Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate N. Amaravathi on Thursday remanded AIMIM floor leader in the Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi to judicial custody till February 12. As soon as the order was delivered, he was shifted back to the district prison in Adilabad.

Ms. Amaravathi also considered Mr. Owaisi’s plea to have private food once in a week subject to thorough check up by a competent medical authority before giving it to him. However, she ruled out an appeal to allow him such food twice in a week.

The court also allowed him Mr. Owaisi to meet his near and dear ones and have lunch from 1.10 p.m. to 2.10 p.m. on the court premises today.

MIM MLAs Virasat Rasool Khan, Mohd. Balala and the MLC Amanul Hassan Jafri, the former Deputy Mayor of Hyderabad Jaffar Hussain and other party leaders met Mr. Owaisi on the court premises. The Magistrate asked the police to reproduce Mr. Owaisi before her for voice record for forensic lab teston February 12. Meanwhile, police lathicharged MIM activists who raised slogans against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
