Rekla held at three places in Coimbatore

Defying the Supreme Court ban on conduct of conduct of sports using bulls, bullock cart race (rekla) was held at three places in the district on Friday. According to sources, farmers, organisers, and the rekla patrons came together to conduct the race in Ettimadai, Pollachi and Vettaikaranpudur in the district.

Around 200 bullock carts participated in the races, sources said and added that the race was organised following the massive turnout of people, particularly students, supporting the conduct of jallikattu and rekla in the city on Thursday.
