205 test positive for A(H1N1) in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi held a review meeting of health officials to monitor A(H1N1) control measures in the State on Monday.

The total number of persons who have tested positive for A(H1N1) in Tamil Nadu is 205, of which 146 have recovered and returned home. Only 54 persons were being treated in quarantine in Government hospitals, public health authorities informed the Chief Minister. All the 54 persons are on the way to a cure and none of them are critical, they assured.

Mr. Karunanidhi also asked officials to ensure that adequate precautions would be taken at Tiruvannamalai and Velankanni where the festival season is all set to begin. Medical facilities should also be provided for all pilgrims, he added.
