Chhattisgarh government has on Wednesday dismissed 13 jawans for not reporting for duty in naxal-affected areas in Rajnandgaon district. Inspector General Police R K Vij said the jawans have been dismissed for not following orders to report for duty at Madanwada, a naxal-infested area, last week.

Jawans numbering about 15 were deputed to the area after they were trained from Counter Terrorism and Jungle Warfare College at Kanker district of the state. However, none reported for duty, he said.

Earlier, the state government had suspended the 15 jawans on grounds of indiscipline of whom 13 were on Wednesday dismissed.
