South Korean President visits Hyundai factory

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak visited Hyundai Motor India factory in Sriperumbudur on Sunday and interacted with employees.

First Lady Kim Yoon-ok and Chairman & CEO, Hyundai-Kia Motor Group, Chung Mong-Koo, were present on the occasion, a release said.

The President visited Chennai on the sidelines of his State visit to New Delhi as Chief Guest at the Republic Day Parade.

H.W. Park, MD (Hyundai Motor India) HMIL, said: “It is an honour for us to host the President and the First Lady at the Hyundai factory in Chennai today [Sunday]. His visit is full of symbolism with the East Asian region undergoing economic and structural changes. We are extremely proud of his presence here.”

The President, a graduate of Business administration from Korea University, was one of the youngest CEOs to head Hyundai Engineering and Construction.
