Criticising Opposition parties for disrupting Parliamentary proceedings on 2G spectrum issue, Union Minister of State for Planning, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture V. Narayanasamy said there was no need for Communications and Information Technology Minister A. Raja to resign at this point. Pointing out that the report of Comptroller and Auditor General that reportedly put a huge loss to the exchequer from the 2G spectrum allocation is yet to be placed before Parliament, he said “the CAG report is not a final document,” and it was “premature” to demand the resignation of Mr. Raja. On his reaction on Congress leader E.V.K.S Elangovan's demand for the resignation of Raja, the Union Minister said he did not agree with the view. On AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa's offer to extend support to the United Progressive Alliance government, he said that the Congress had never sought her assistance. Mr. Narayanasamy said thathis party's alliance with DMK “was intact.”
