‘Beatles' legend Paul McCartney is set for a third trip down the aisle at the age of 68, after getting engaged to girlfriend of four years, Nancy Shevell.

The musician who started dating the 51-year-old New York businesswoman in the summer of 2007, has decided that she is ‘the one', reported People magazine online.

The ‘Love Me Do' hitmaker's daughter, designer Stella McCartney, from his first marriage to Linda Eastman, is said to be “absolutely thrilled” for her father.

The news comes three years after Mr. McCartney's very public divorce from Heather Mills, which ended in a messy and long drawn court battle.

The musician met Ms. Shevell, vice-president of a family-owned transportation conglomerate, in the Hamptons, New York, four years ago.

The couple were recently pictured together on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last Tuesday.

This will be the third wedding for former Beatle Sir Paul.

He was married to Linda McCartney from 1969 until her death from breast cancer in 1998. He then married Ms. Mills, a former model and philanthropist, in 2002.

The couple separated in May 2006 and were officially divorced in May 2008.
