Parliament to re-convene on April 15

March 23, 2010 10:43 pm | Updated March 24, 2010 08:06 am IST - NEW DELHI:

After the current mid-session recess, Parliament will re-convene on April 15, three days later than expected.

Apparently, the government decided to concede the demand from many members across party lines that Parliament remain close on April 13 and 14, being celebrated as Baisakhi (April 13) and Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14).

A statement from the Lok Sabha secretariat said that keeping this in view, sittings scheduled for April 13 and 14 have been cancelled.

A similar announcement has been made for the Rajya Sabha.
