Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday unveiled a booklet highlighting his government’s achievements in 100 days since he assumed office on March 19. He used the occasion to take a dig at previous governments for lack of development due to ''corruption and nepotism in the past years.''
Releasing at a press conference the booklet, “100 din vishwas ke”, he said, “We want to assure people that the government has started initiatives to take Uttar Pradesh forward on the path of development.” The year 2017 would be observed as ‘Garib Kalyan Varsh’.
'Priority to farmers'
The State’s economy was agriculturebased and his government was, therefore, giving priority to issues related to farmers. Cane dues of over Rs 22,517 crore were paid to growers after his government came to power.
Mr. Adityanath, who barely took a couple of questions from the media, sought the cooperation of newspersons in helping him run the government.
He highlighted the major decisions taken by the State Cabinet on farm loan waiver and on toning up law and order.
Ever since Mr. Adityanath took over the reins of the State, the bureaucracy is constantly on its toes. It is an unusual sight to see that the parking lots at the Secretariat here get full even before the clock strikes 9:25 in the morning.
Mr. Adityanath has proved himself to be a tough taskmaster, holding back-to-back meetings with ministers and bureaucrats well past midnight, only to return to office before 9.30 a.m. the next day.
