The Delhi High Court on Tuesday restrained the wife and son of the former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha member of the Janata Dal (U), George Fernandes, from taking him out of Delhi.

Justice V.K. Shali passed the order on a suit filed by Richard Fernandes and Michael Fernandes, brothers of Mr. George Fernandes, urging the Court to restrain Laila Kabir and her son Sean from taking Mr. George out of Delhi. The Court passed the order while dismissing a plea by the wife-son duo that Mr. George was required to be taken to the United States for treatment.

The matter will come up for hearing next on April 26.

Mr. Richard had recently complained to the Delhi Police Commissioner about the alleged “illegal and high-handed behaviour” of the security personnel provided to the ailing leader.
