We’re not involved in shoot out: NSCN(I-M)

June 27, 2012 01:03 am | Updated 01:03 am IST - IMPHAL:

The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) has formally denied the involvement of its cadres in the shoot out on Tuesday at Haochong village in Tamenglong district. Three cadres of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) and two villagers were killed in the incident.

Earlier, an NSCN(K) statement said the NSCN(IM) men ambushed the rebels of the NSCN(K), the Naga National Council and the Zeliangrong United Front killing three cadres and two villagers.

The NSCN(IM) said the NSCN(K) went to press with the false charge. “The incident was the outcome of drinking and quarrelling over petty matters [among the rebels of the three outfits at Haochong].” It said the NSCN(K) abducted Athikho Mao on June 21 night and killed him.
