Dismissing Congress president Sonia Gandhi's defence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare said on Monday that he developed doubts after he went through the Comptroller and Auditor-General's report on the coal block allocation.

“I used to think that the Prime Minister is clean. But after seeing the papers, even I suspect something is wrong,” he told journalists after the daylong meeting of Team Anna's core committee here.

“Baseless charge”

He termed “baseless” Ms. Gandhi's charge — made at the Congress Working Committee meeting during the day — of a conspiracy against the government and said Team Anna would send her “files of all proof” (of the charges) to decide whether or not they were baseless.

Mr. Hazare said the core committee decided to support yoga guru Baba Ramdev's August 9 campaign against black money and accept his backing for Team Anna's agitation from July 25 to demand an independent probe into the charges against 14 Union Ministers.

Different stance

Asked about the spat at Jantar Mantar here on Sunday between Baba Ramdev and core committee member Arvind Kejriwal on naming the Ministers, he said: “Not naming the Ministers was Baba Ramdev's opinion. We have differences on that.”

On Sunday, Mr. Kejriwal defended his speech at Jantar Mantar naming the Ministers against whom charges of irregularities have been levelled. He said he had left the venue because he was “really unwell” and was proceeding for a naturopathy treatment on Tuesday.
