Dismissing Congress president Sonia Gandhi's defence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare said on Monday that he developed doubts after he went through the Comptroller and Auditor-General's report on the coal block allocation.

“I used to think that the Prime Minister is clean. But after seeing the papers, even I suspect something is wrong,” he told journalists after the daylong meeting of Team Anna's core committee here.

“Baseless charge”

He termed “baseless” Ms. Gandhi's charge — made at the Congress Working Committee meeting during the day — of a conspiracy against the government and said Team Anna would send her “files of all proof” (of the charges) to decide whether or not they were baseless.

Mr. Hazare said the core committee decided to support yoga guru Baba Ramdev's August 9 campaign against black money and accept his backing for Team Anna's agitation from July 25 to demand an independent probe into the charges against 14 Union Ministers.

Different stance

Asked about the spat at Jantar Mantar here on Sunday between Baba Ramdev and core committee member Arvind Kejriwal on naming the Ministers, he said: “Not naming the Ministers was Baba Ramdev's opinion. We have differences on that.”

On Sunday, Mr. Kejriwal defended his speech at Jantar Mantar naming the Ministers against whom charges of irregularities have been levelled. He said he had left the venue because he was “really unwell” and was proceeding for a naturopathy treatment on Tuesday.

As per my understanding CAG makes comments with lot of assumptions which most of time technically not palatable. Finally they say it is our view this could have been done like this.Later all other agencies will see the content and decide that argument is not worthy. These political people take such points and put in their language and fool the public. If the so called Anna team is having solid proof they can go to courts and try to prove. Otherwise let them not waste our time.

Why is Team Anna sending proof of Corruption to Sonia? Sonia herself is
the ultimate beneficiary of all the corrupt deals of the Congress
Government.

Team Anna is increasingly being perceived as a bunch of attention seekers with all rhetoric and no spine for coordinated legal action against the perceived corrupt. This only exposes their hit and run mentality for truly political gains which right from the beginning they have miserably failed to disguise in spite of their efforts.
They should submit their "evidence" and "documents" to Supreme Court so they can decide suo-moto if there is case for ordering an investigation or if their allegations are only based on half truths with targeted extrapolation of facts.
Alternatively they should initiate a PIL backing it up with their documents - unless of course their real intent is only to grab media and political mileage by harping on common issues faced by us in our society that every one of us certainly will identify with as victims - irrespective of political leanings.
One thing is becoming loud and clear literally - neither are their methods civil nor are they all of society.

We hear there is coal scam.It being a bland statement lacking specifics
and the Congress roundly rejecting it no one can make any worthwhile
comment. The CAG,the government and Team Anna only know.

Well said Annaji. Call their bluff by giving the proof.
This idea among substantial number of Indians that PM is clean is plain wrong. When you
hold the highest office in the world's largest democracy, you are responsible for ensuring
no loot happens under your watch. The PM cannot wash his hands off when questioned
about irregularities that happened while he is in charge.
Jai hind!!

To fight corruption, especially if one has proof, the recourse is to file a case in a court and wait for law to pronounce a judgement. Just to talk about it is political if not cynical in the society.

Why send it to Sonia. Don't make this a farce. Register an FIR and submit the proof to the courts.

I think it is too early for both the UPA chief and Team Anna to claim allegations against Dr. Singh baseless or clinching respectively. For all the corruption in the country the judiciary still performs relatively well. Let's see how the case is decided before jumping the gun. They will have all the time in the world to throw mud at each other after that.

Mr. Hazare is in the news for sometime. I would like to know who is financing the team. Are they on any pay roll. It seems to me as an ex driver how he is managing his expenses. can the team declare their income?

The situation causes a lot of suspecion about the role of anna hazare and his team. Their intent seems to be not just fighting corruption. They should publish the details of the money they collected from donors for their campaign activities, without further loss of time. Someone will have to be extra ordinary clean to raise fingers on others, when it matters one of the highest institutions of the country. They are attacking deliberately the said institution to engage the government from top to bottom on corruption charges, thereby paralyse policy decisions, which is already moving in a slow phase. The country is facing severe economic crisis at this juncture and instead of contributing to bail out the country from this crisis, the anna team is playing the role of "Sakuni" of the Mahabharatha. The country must raise against designes of these anna team and their mentors.

It appears there is lack of coordination in Anna Hazare and his team. When Team Anna was levying allegations against P.M. and his 14/15 ministers,Sh.Anna Hazare kept mum over the subject. The statement what Sh.Anna Hazare has rendered today should have been given on the very
same day when his team had leveled allegation in the Press Conference.
Team Anna had taken the maximum use of the information technology in it's agitation and ,therefore, this gap does not sound.Anyway we still
salute the boldness of the team who had been fighting with the corrupt political parties and the system. If only 2% people awakes like this change in the system is sure.Swami Vivekanand said "I am not
concerned about the bad deeds of wicked people. I m more concerned about the inactive attitude of the good people."

Anna is at his best here as usual 'its his way or the highway'. He is so full of his own sense of importance that it beggars belief. He is taking on the PM of India on party political gorunds. He is so full of himself no wonder these egos are busy fighting each other. He cannot make his mind up from day to day one day for him the PM was honest man next (after taking orders from his team) he is not! What a utter ploker and joker is anna and his team of NGO advisors! They have dishonoured the good name Sikh PM Singh who did more for India than all of anna's back-biting team put together. They are an utter disgrace to the nation.
